According to the latest update from the Changzhou Project Command of Xingran Technology, the construction of Xingran Technology’s Changzhou PEM electrolyzer production base is expected to be completed by the end of October 2024 and officially begin operations in January 2025. The total floor area of this production base reaches 26,000 square meters. Its primary product is a 250 standard cubic meter/hour PEM electrolyzer, which is modularly produced by packaging four individual cells into containerized units. Each container has a capacity of 1,000 standard cubic meters per hour. With an annual output capacity of 1 gigawatt, this PEM electrolyzer production base is currently the largest of its kind in China.

Intelligent manufacturing system

The Xingran Technology Changzhou PEM Electrolyzer Production Base is located within the Wujin National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. The workshop features a fully intelligent and automated production and manufacturing system, equipped with nearly a hundred advanced pieces of equipment, including state-of-the-art ultrasonic spray coating machines and five-in-one hot-pressing machines. This has created an efficient production model characterized by “line-based operations plus intelligent manufacturing,” significantly shortening the production cycle and reducing manufacturing costs. Through the introduction of smart equipment and the construction of an automated production line, the workshop has achieved comprehensive monitoring and management of the entire production process. Every single step—from material handling and equipment assembly to quality inspection—is carried out under the precise control of an intelligent system, ensuring that all processes meet the highest industry standards.

The manufacturing cost of PEM equipment is 35% to 40% lower than the industry average.

By adopting a dual-pronged strategy that combines technology-driven cost reductions with economies of scale, Xingran Technology has significantly lowered the manufacturing costs of its 250 Nm³/h PEM electrolyzer equipment. Compared to the industry average, Xingran Technology’s PEM equipment manufacturing costs have risen from below 35% of the industry average to 40%. This achievement provides a solid equipment foundation for realizing affordable green hydrogen and meets the market’s demand for efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly hydrogen production equipment.
